            UNITY High School Christian Fellowship

            Picture
UNITY is a dynamic, energetic group of young adults that meet regularly to have fun, play games, discuss teen life and learn about their faith.  This group comes from different grades, backgrounds and attend 5 different high schools to come together and meet together.  Each Sunday night we spend time expanding our spiritual education and faith perception with discussions, DVD lessons, bible studies and activities.  We also play a number of strange, silly and otherwise ridiculously fun games designed to break down barriers between each other, develop and foster leadership and teamwork, and most importantly - TO HAVE FUN!

            Events

            Picture
Throughout the year, UNITY has a number of events they take part in.  Some events are to give back to the community, like our summer Youth Mission Trip.  Others are to experience a different way of life, like our Shanty Town 30 Hour Famine event in early October.  Some events are to spend time in worship and faith-filled reflection like our Fall and Spring Youth Retreats up to Tower Hill Retreat Center in Sawyer, MI.  Other events are simply to come together and have a really good time in a safe, Christian environment, like our Finals Finale Overnight, Mess'd Fest annually in September, the Summer Photo Scavenger Hunt and many, many more - some of which they team up with the youth ministry Momentum.

            Mission Trip

            Picture
St. Peter's high school youth has traveled to South Dakota, West Virgina and Tennessee on their annual Youth Mission Trip.  In past summers, we have worked on rehabbing homes, building decks, cleaning and repairing the inside of homes and new construction.  We have worked with both Sunset Gap and F.A.S.T.   Sunset Gap is a program run through the Presbyterian Church that has worked closely with the UCC ministry F.A.S.T. (Faithful Advocates Serving Together).  If you want to be a participant this upcoming summer, please contact St. Peter because the fundraising and preparation for this trip is a year-long activity. Contact the church and ask for the youth pastor.  Get involved because we'd love to have you!

            To get involved:

Want to give UNITY a try?  Great!  There are several ways to get involved: 1) Come to St. Peter UCC of Lake Zurich at our Sunday night meeting time and enjoy the fun!  2) Contact Pastor Em, our youth pastor, at St. Peter through her email address or the church's phone number, both found on the Contact Us page.  3) Talk to one of the many UNITY members that may go to your school.  They would be thrilled to bring you along!  4) Visit St. Peter for our Saturday evening or Sunday morning worship and talk to Pastor Steve Boorsma or Pastor Em about trying UNITY out.  However you go about it, we'd love to have you give UNITY a chance!
